The supplemental restraint system (SRS) can still work for a period of time after power supply is disconnected. Wait for at least 3 min before disassembling or removing any SRS components.
Make sure that the electrical system of the vehicle is completely powered off, without any connection to other power supplies.
The following procedure specifies the key maintenance steps required for correct operation of SRS components in case of a collision. Please carefully follow all precautions and steps. Failure to follow the step-by-step instructions may lead to incorrect operation of SRS and increase the risk of serious personal injury or death during collision.
Power off the low-voltage electrical system. Refer to Power-off and power-on of low-voltage electrical system
Remove the driver airbag module.
Insert a miniature straight screwdriver into 2 maintenance holes and press the circlip to detach the driver airbag module from the steering wheel.
Remove the driver airbag module.
Disconnect 2 connectors and take out the driver airbag module.
Please observe the following precautions when installing the airbag; otherwise, personal injury may be caused.
Before installing the airbag, please check whether the installation position of the airbag and steering wheel is damaged. If so, install new components.
Before installing the airbag, please check whether there is any foreign matter between the airbag and the steering wheel to ensure that the airbag can deploy normally.
Do not attempt to disassemble or maintain the airbag. If any abnormalities occur, please replace the airbag with a new one.
Install it in the reverse order of removal.
