Removal and installation of right A-pillar upper shield assembly

Remove

Caution
Be careful during the removal of trim panel to avoid scratching the surface material.

  1. Power off the low-voltage electrical system. Refer to Power-off and power-on of low-voltage electrical system 

  2. Remove the side curtain airbag identification plug cap. Refer to Removal and installation of side curtain airbag identification plug cap (on A-pillar upper shield assembly) 

  3. Remove the front right door frame sealing strip partially.

  4. Remove the right A-pillar upper shield assembly.

    1. Detach 2 fixing clips and move aside the right A-pillar upper shield assembly.

    2. Disconnect 1 connector from the DMS infrared camera and take out the right A-pillar upper shield assembly.

  5. To replace the right A-pillar upper shield assembly, remove the following accessory from it:

    • Remove the DMS infrared camera.

      Reminder

      This step is applicable to vehicle models equipped with DMS infrared camera.

Install

Caution
Before installation, check for any missing or damaged clips. If any, install a new clip.

  1. Install it in the reverse order of removal.
